Dace Road, there’s not a lot of it, and it doesn’t lead anywhere anymore, but if you like your street art it’s well worth a visit. Like its neighbours, Roach Road, Bream Street, Smeed Road, and Monier Road, it’s named after a freshwater fish, and is sited on Fish Island in the East End of London. And it’s a far more interesting place to be than the empty, windblown spaces of the 2012 London Olympic Park that lead us to find it.
Here’s a taster of what we found in February 2019 ..
My favourite is the orange and yellow by Shine and Quest, with Cuso filling the space above.
Stop for a coffee or fry up if you can, at Cafe Greenway.
Unfortunately, I have no idea who is, or was, responsible for the collage – is it the work of just one or two people, or is it an ongoing community effort? I’d love to know.
When you’re in London, don’t spend all your time in the big art galleries, get out and about, you’ll find some real gems on the streets.
